British Airways to operate seasonal London Heathrow to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen services this summer

British Airways will introduce a summer seasonal service from its London Heathrow hub to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen starting on June 1.

The seasonal route will be operated four days a week.

LOT Polish Airlines to launch the Krakow – Istanbul route, introduces an Itaka Travel Agency logo jet

LOT Polish Airlines has announced it will launch a Krakow ­­­- Istanbul route. The first flight to Turkey’s largest city is scheduled for April.

The first aircraft travelling from the capital of Małopolska to the city on the Bosphorus will take off on April 27, 2023 at 5:10 pm and will land in Istanbul at 8:30 pm local time. Connections on this route will be operated by Embraer 195.

The aeroplane from Istanbul to Krakow will take off at 9:20 pm, and its scheduled landing at the destination airport is at 10:20 pm local time. Flights in both directions will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

In other news, LOT has introduced a Itaka Travel Agency logo jet on Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 SP-LVL.

Wizz Air to return to Istanbul

Wizz Air on January 19 announced it will return to Istanbul as of March 2023 from Hungary. Wizz Air returns to Istanbul after 7 years, and adds four point to point services to Budapest, London Gatwick, London Luton, and Iasi, the earliest flight departing in March already. With these services the airline will be the first ultra-low cost carrier flying from Istanbul airport, providing over 400,000 high quality, but low fare seats to cities around Europe. Wizz Air’s industry leading low emissions and highly sustainable operations will support Istanbul Airport to reach its sustainability goals by operating the modern and sustainable Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Besides the new all year round routes to Istanbul, WIZZ launches seasonal point to point services to the Turkish seaside, Dalaman and Antalya, supporting the ramp up of local tourism. Over 300,000 passengers from Abu Dhabi, Bucharest, Budapest, Cluj, Debrecen and London will be able to enjoy the airline’s low fares and high quality direct connections to these amazing resorts.

Together with this nnouncement Wizz Air will operate flights to four Turkish airports, providing over 800,000 low-fare seats in 2023.
