Endeavor Air operates its last Bombardier CRJ200 revenue flight

Endeavor Air has retired its last Bombardier CRJ200.

Flight DL 5278 from Brunswick, GA to the Atlanta hub operated on April 30 with N8918B.

The airliner arrived at ATL at 1932 (7:32 pm) ending an era at the Delta subsidiary.

Endeavor Air is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines. Flying as Delta Connection, Endeavor operates 124 regional jets on 700 daily flights to over 100 cities in the United States and across North America.

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., Endeavor has hub operations in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and New York City.

The airline issued this statement on the event:

On Sunday, April 30, Endeavor Air operated its final CRJ200 flight, departing from Brunswick, GA, and arriving in Atlanta. This flight marked the end of an era for Endeavor, and executive leaders, employees, and aviation fans were on hand to celebrate the aircraft that expanded the regional airline industry and mark the occasion of its final revenue flight.

“This aircraft truly transformed the regional industry.” said Jim Graham, CEO of Endeavor Air, before the final flight. “The CRJ200s started operating Part 121 flights back in 1996, while this particular aircraft first came to us in 2004. This airplane has 33,000 hours on it and is an incredible airplane,”

Following the final revenue flight, aircraft 8918 flew to Endeavor’s ATL, DTW and MSP bases where the maintenance and crew teams hosted retirement open house events. Endeavor employees and guests celebrated the legacy of the 200 with cake, give-aways, photo ops and one last chance to step onto the CRJ200.

Thank you to everyone who attended one of the events this week or shared a memory of the CRJ200!

Delta’s in-house meteorologists are actively reviewing and sharing up-to-date weather forecasts with others in the airline’s Operations and Customer Center as they make decisions on whether to cancel flights in the days ahead. Canceling flights is a last-resort decision that is never taken lightly. We strive to cancel flights well in advance of scheduled departure to allow our customers to adjust their plans before going to the airport.

While there are challenges that come with running an airline safely through a weather system spanning nearly 2,000 miles, Delta people on the front lines and behind the scenes remain steadfast to the airline’s commitment to safety and getting customers where they need to be as quickly as possible as operations recover at impacted airports.

Customers can review our customer guide to traveling with Delta and are encouraged to keep the following in mind:

  • Automatic Rebooking: If a flight is canceled, Delta will attempt to automatically rebook affected customers on the next available flight to get customers to where they’re going and minimize delays.
  • Itinerary Updates: Delta will send updates on itinerary changes directly to a mobile device or by email. To enable this communication, please provide contact information at the time of booking or add it online via My Trips.
  • Self Service: Customers are encouraged to download and use the Fly Delta app or visit delta.com to check their flight status and manage their rebooking with convenient self-service options.
  • Messaging: As we anticipate Delta Reservations phone wait times will be longer than usual, the Messaging feature on delta.com and the Fly Delta app is a quicker way to get in touch with one of our specialists.
