Starlux Airlines Los Angeles-Taipei route increases to daily flights, teams up with Spider-Man

STARLUX’s first intercontinental route between Los Angeles and Taipei, which launched April 26, has increased from five flights a week to daily.

In addition, travelers flying on these flights are able to experience the airline’s new, unique “Home-in-the-Air” amenities, a special series of co-branded amenity kits exclusively designed by Italian luxury brands FPM and Bric’s Milano, along with Samsonite RED. Starting this month, this new route also features a variety of sports themed amenities—LA Dodgers-themed amenities on the LAX-TPE route, and LA Clippers-themed amenities on the TPE-LAX route.

For all Asian routes, STARLUX also announced the launch of Spider-Verse-themed flights in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation’s film, Spider-ManTM: Across the Spider-Verse, which just hit theaters June 2. The “Travel Like a Superhero” campaign, which runs through August, will feature Spider-Verse goodies on board in all classes.

“With rising demand, the increased frequency of our LAX-TPE route will allow passengers to travel comfortably and conveniently to and from major cities in North America and Asia,” said STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai. “And our exclusive amenities from luxury brands, as well as our unique Dodgers and Clippers themed amenities align with STARLUX’s mission to make flying a truly memorable and luxurious experience.”

Long-haul Route “Home-in-the-Air” Amenities

The amenity kits provided on STARLUX long-haul flights are intended to make life at 38,000 feet a most pleasant and positive experience. Each amenity kit is designed to enhance the flying experience with all the comforts of home. The amenity kits include:

  • First Class: Travelers flying in First Class will find an amenity kit co-branded with FPM—Fabbrica Pelletterie Milano. The kit’s upright flip-up design combines a classic leather handle and the signature chic and straightforward appearance for which FPM is known. It includes “The Ritual of Jing” series of cosmetics from Netherlands fragrance brand Rituals. Guests also have a custom-designed blanket co-branded by century-old Italian luxury wool brand Loro Piana, which uses 100% Loro Piana Zelander fabric and Punto Cavallo piping stitching, skin-soft pajamas, and Sony’s top-of-the-line noise-canceling WH-1000XM5 wireless headset.
  • Business Class: Business Class passengers will be greeted with amenity kits designed to look like the classic Bric’s suitcase. The kit includes products from French skincare brand Huygens to help relieve the stress of long-distance travel using natural essential oils which promote deep sleep. They will also have a double-sided blanket made of 100% GRS-certified polyester featuring a short gray plush that feels gentle against the skin and skin-soft pajamas.
  • Premium Economy: Customers in Premium Economy will have earth-toned Samsonite RED series amenity kits. The kits will include Swedish beauty brand IDUN Minerals—which uses 100% plant-based and environmentally friendly materials—provide a light and comfortable high-altitude experience. Premium Economy travelers will also find special double-sided blankets.
  • Economy Class: Travelers in Economy Class will be able to enjoy eco-friendly amenity kits made by STARLUX Airlines and decorated with Taiwanese Aboriginal totems. The kits will contain essential grooming accessories for the journey.

Sports-Themed Amenities for Intercontinental Flights

Starting this month, STARLUX LAX-TPE flights will feature a variety of LA Dodgers-themed amenities and TPE-LAX flights will feature an array of LA Clippers-themed amenities. The amenities include such things as themed meal packaging (paper placemats, napkins, towelettes, inflight meal foil covers, mini food flags, burger wrapping paper), playing cards, eye masks, luggage tags, and boarding passes.

Spider-Man Themed Amenities for Asia Flights

The Spider-Man movie themed flights will have an exclusive boarding pass featuring the film’s main character, Miles Morales, and other Spider-People, along with Spider-Verse-themed stickers and luggage tags. The curated themed amenities create an immersive onboard environment. Spider-Verse can be found on amenities such as paper cups, napkins, and children’s meal boxes. A special edition of STARLUX Airlines’ popular playing cards will also be available onboard.

Starlux Airlines to launch a third Philippines route; North American travelers can soon fly to Clark via Taipei

STARLUX Airlines is adding a third Philippines destination to its routes, with the launch of daily flights between Taipei and Clark, Philippines, starting August 15. North American travelers can soon fly with ease and style from Los Angeles to Clark – the gateway to northern Philippines and island tourist destinations – via Taipei. Tickets are now officially on sale. STARLUX currently flies to both Manila and Cebu in the Philippines, and 14 other Asian destinations.  

Formerly the largest U.S. military base in Asia, Clark has been transformed into what’s now known as the Freeport Zone —an important economic center and tourist destination. Clark has experienced significant economic growth and development in recent years, attracting businesses and investments. It is also an up-and-coming tourist destination, known for its beautiful natural surroundings, including mountains, lakes, and outdoor recreational areas.  

In 2022, the United States was the biggest market of international tourists traveling to the Philippines (source Statisica). Today, there are more than four million Filipinos in the US, the third largest Asian group (source US Census).  

In addition to offering greater convenience to those heading to the northern Philippines, STARLUX’s premium inflight service will attract more travelers seeking luxury and comfort. Clark is a destination that appeals to both business and leisure travelers. 

New Taipei to Clark Route 

The flights to Clark will be operated by an Airbus A321neo configured in a two-class layout, with eight seats in Business Class and 180 in Economy Class. The schedule for the new flights to Clark is shown below:

In addition to the new service to Clark, STARLUX plans to launch non-stop service to San Francisco from Taipei by year’s end. The carrier will also take delivery of its fourth A350 by the end of the year.  

Alaska Airlines launches a partnership with STARLUX Airlines

Alaska Airlines is celebrating its newest global airline partner: STARLUX Airlines, a Taipei-based premium carrier, which on April 26 launched its inaugural transpacific service between Taipei and Los Angeles. Alaska is STARLUX’s first airline partner.

From Southern California, STARLUX opens a new international gateway through its main hub in Taipei for connections to 16 destinations across Asia, including Bangkok, Thailand; Hanoi, Vietnam; Penang, Malaysia; Manila, Philippines; Singapore; Macau and Sapporo, Japan. Los Angeles (LAX) is one of Alaska’s hubs along the West Coast allowing for convenient connectivity to STARLUX flights for our guests.

STARLUX operates the transpacific route with its new-generation Airbus A350-900 aircraft configured in a four-class layout: First, business, premium economy and economy. Travelers in first and business classes enjoy a private space with a sliding door and seats with full-flat and Zero G mode for full relaxation. The extra-legroom premium economy section features a 40-inch Recaro seat with a leg rest and footrest bar. Economy class seats are equipped with leather headrests and a wide seat pitch.

Taiwan-based Starlux Airlines to launch first transpacific flight to Los Angeles on April 26

Starlux Airlines, a Taiwan-based luxury carrier, has announced the launch of its inaugural Taipei-Los Angeles transpacific flight debuting on April 26.

Initially starting with five weekly flights, the service is expected to ramp to daily in June.

Starlux also announced the establishment of its first US office based in Los Angeles and its new designation as the “Official International Airline Partner of the LA Clippers” as part of a multi-year partnership with the NBA team. 

Luxury Service and a Taste of Taiwan

While the last few years have seen a plethora of budget airlines come onto the scene, Starlux is bucking the trend — a luxury airline expanding in a world of no-frills carriers. International Partnership with the LA Clippers

The Clippers are an innovative global brand with an international fan base and reach, and Starlux is the latest international company to join Clipper Nation. In addition to in-arena activations and hospitality elements in Los Angeles, Sstarlux’s partnership with the Clippers includes international rights through the NBA’s international team marketing program. The airline will activate in-flight branding, international sweepstakes, and other digital and in-person activations featuring Clippers elements and personalities.

Starting June 1, Clippers-themed amenities will be provided on Starlux TPE-LAX flights, such as themed meal packaging including paper placemats, napkins, towelettes, inflight meal foil covers, mini food flags, burger wrapping paper, and kids meal boxes. Other niceties include playing cards, eye masks, paper cups, stirrers, rice cracker packages, luggage tags, boarding passes, and stickers will be distributed at check in.
